‘An introduction to personal bikepacking / expeditioning’

This two day bikepacking course will be run in Snowdonia, North Wales with a healthy mix of theory, technical elements of bikepacking, trial and error and good old trail riding. As the sun goes down early at this time of year we’ll set up camp, get some food and a warm drink inside us reflect on our day and plan future adventures around the campfire! You will need a good quality sleeping bag and enough food to keep you happy through the weekend but otherwise an average level of fitness and eagerness to get out biking is all you’ll need. This trip will run with a maximum of 6 riders.

‘A highland bikepacking adventure’

Starting out of Fort William this three night bikepacking expedition will see us take in some of the Highlands most scenic wilderness at a relaxed pace and mileage allowing riders new to expeditioning or those with an average fitness and bike experience to get a true sense of adventure and the real wilderness experience. The route takes in a section of the Great Glen but before that you’ll ride through un-inhabited valleys, alongside spectacular lochs and if we’re lucky we’ll encounter some of Scotland’s spectacular wildlife.
On our last trip to this area of the UK we encountered deer, eagles, osprey and the elusive pine marten, so while wildlife sightings are far from guaranteed you’ll be in ideal country to maximise your odds.
If it’s the trails that whet your appetite for this adventure be sure there will be a mix of graded trails to help get the miles done and spectacular fast and flowing sections to imprint that grin from ear to ear.
We keep our group sizes small (max 6 per group) to keep us flowing well as a group along our route and to ensure we can give each member of the group a truly personal service.

‘An advanced highland bikepacking adventure’

This is for those with some experience of longer rides or who already have a good basis of camping experience. On this three day bikepacking adventure we will ride at a slightly faster pace to cover more ground each day. Along route we will encounter some big climbs and spectacular descents.
As with all our UK bikepacking expeditions we like to keep things small and personal so this adventure will be limited to a group size of 6.
The three night route will take us through some of the Highlands true wilderness areas and may offer the opportunity to encounter some spectacular wildlife as well as some trails that you’ll never forget.
To join us on this adventure you need to be confident in riding more advanced trails (red and black graded trail centres and equivalent natural trails) and be happy to ride 50+km days back to back.

‘A Fatbike bikepacking adventure, Scottish style’

On this three night fatbike adventure expedition we will make the most of the fat tyre’d floatyness of your fatbike to explore some of the best beaches and trails northwest Scotland has to offer. With the 4″ (or more) of low pressure tyres to help us roll along we’ll be able to go where no ordinary bike could hope to go and this trip is the perfect opportunity to make the most of a fatbike while there’s no snow to play on.
To take part in this expedition you need to have a good level of bike handling skills and fitness but as the demands of fat biking are very different to the demands of trail riding while you won’t encounter super techy trails you’ll still find this a lovable challenge. We are able to access a small number of superb quality fatbikes for hire if you don’t own one yet – drop us an email to discuss this further.
On previous expeditions along the northwest coast of Scotland we’ve encountered seals, otters, dolphins, minke whale, puffins, sea eagles and much much more, so while there’s no guarantees if wildlife is your thing this is the expedition for you.
With a more relaxed pace and this bikepacking expedition being more about the experience than the distance travelled we have space for 8 people on this trip.
